Over 32 years of diverse experience working with technology from electronics in the late 1980s to proven marketing and business automation solutions to help grow and scale business in today’s online world.
David’s journey starts with an Apprenticeship in Electronics
Having an interest in audio electronics David secured an apprenticeship in Electronics with AWA and went on to work in the Audio/Visual department repairing electronic equipment at component level.
The start of business system transformation at easyPC
With a passion for fixing things and his entrepreneurial drive, David took his fault finding and repair skills and started developing automated systems to enable easyPC to run without director involvement within the year.
Business Development Manager at HiWay Computing
Seeing opportunity in the IT industry David stepped into a business development role at HiWay Computing and sold and project managed the deployment of IT equipment for small organisations creating new market niches for the business.
Managing Consultant at Software Spectrum
David crossed the Tasman and picked up a role as a Managing Consultant with Software Spectrum. He project managed software solutions and implemented a new presales and project management methodology into the origination that results in an enormous reduction in project overruns and scope creep.
VOIP Transformation at Logical
David joined Logical and project managed many of the first major Voice Over IP (VOIP) solutions in Australia using Cisco equipment and revamped their Project Management Methodology in the process
DTMF to Voice Recognition Transformation at Telstra
David joined Telstra and was involved in the transformation of their call centre’s “press one for this and two for that” DTMF call routing to Voice Recognition and project managed the deployment of Telstra’s Voice Recognition platform that runs all their support and sales calls.
Entrepreneurial drive to turn personal passion into a lifestyle business
Not seeing much of a future selling his sole to the corporate world David took the leap of faith and started up Cycling-Inform. His dream was to use his passion for riding, his entrepreneurial drive, and his understanding of technology to create a business that could coach cyclists all around the world remotely via the internet. In the early days much of the focus was on using the internet to market physical products and services. This focus has changed to the delivery of online service offerings and training content as the market has matured.
So in 2007 David set up Cycling-Inform’s first website and started marketing training camps and off the bike strength training DVD via the internet using Facebook and Google AdWords advertising campaigns.
One of the first to market on online sales for cycling products and became the largest reseller of Kurt Kinetic trainers in Australia using the power of email marketing and a website storefront. Started packaging up training program with home trainers to add value and distinguish ourself from market competition.
Started online cycle coaching and was one of the first to deliver remote online cycling coaching services to the world via video conferencing.
Approached by Bicycle Network to develop training programs for their Peaks Challenge Falls Creek event.
Started an online membership portal to start to deliver our training services and generating ongoing monthly income via subscriptions.
Moved our CRM off WordPress and started automating our marketing, business and content delivery systems using Infusionsoft.
Started producing video training offering online training program courses.
Won Infusionsoft Best Growth award for the year and presented at Infusionsoft’s ICON event “Thinking Globally in Your Business”
Automated and accelerated our lead generation to feed our business with new leads using website pop-ups and Facebook and Google AdWords advertising campaigns.
Started up webinars to promote and massively increase our membership subscriptions.
After sustained growth for more than ten years it was time to take our lessons learned and focus on consolidating our business systems and marketing efforts. This enabled us to develop new product offerings using the Least Viable Product (LVP) model, which included the release of our highly successful Leaner Cyclist Coaching program.
David, using his wealth of experience in business development, information technology, systems design, and automation started helping business to scale their operation by implementing technology and marketing systems.
Helped Greg Merrilee’s from Studio1 hone his messaging and developed his evergreen webinar marketing funnel that feeds his business with new targeted leads.
Solved Posturepro Physios problems with filling their appointments calendar with new clients week after week. Now working on bringing their treatment and client retention solution for Heath Care practitioners called the SOAZ method to the market.
